IEC's mission is simple, "helping merit electrical contractors succeed!"

Electrical contractors whom practice the “merit shop” business philosophy have turned to the IEC for over 50 years for the “power to succeed.” With over 3,000 members nationwide, IEC has the collective power and wisdom to assist small and large contractors alike to prosper.

“When our company joined IEC in 1992, we had 16 employees. Today we have over 400 employees with seven offices. IEC has been the catalyst for our company growth. Their staff and resources are always there at the right time.” Tom Stalvey, CEO, Ace Electric.

As a business owner and electrical contractor, you need a place to train your employees on practical electrical construction work, not electrical theory. You also need a place to find new employees, whether it be new helpers or skilled electricians. And then, both you and your employees need to keep up with the newest codes, estimating and project management, not to mention regulatory, legal and fiscal compliance issues. IEC provides solutions in all these areas!

You also need somewhere to turn when organized labor and government intervention, like project labor agreements (PLAs), threaten the very way of doing business. Operating as a 501(c)6 non profit organization, IEC functions as a conduit for electrical contractors to learn from each other; band together to preserve a competitive business environment; provide quality training, and much more.
